Fringe: March For Dignity (live online screening)

Fringe! is happening online this year!

March for Dignity is a documentary directed by John Eames who follows a small group of LGBTQI+ activists in Tbilisi, Georgia while they are organising the 1st Pride of the country. This brave group face the harsh opposition of the powerful Georgian Orthodox Church, the extreme far-right movements and the government that has lead to a large number of attacks to the queer community, attacks supported by the Russian influence.

The film portraits the current situation of Georgia interviewing members of the Pride committee as well as the ones situated in the opposition. The country is in a historic moment where Georgians need to choose who they want to follow and where they want to be: with the homophobic Russia or with the western world fighting for progress and human rights.

The Tbilisi's Pride organisers are not only fighting for their right to protest in the city but also to make themselves visible in their country and region, as they know that public espouse is the beginning of the change.

This is a live, online event.
You will be emailed a link for the live stream which will begin at 18:30 on 16th Nov.
